Two houses in the Tipperary Cahir Cashel Municipal District (MD) and two houses in the Thurles Templemore MD have been offered on the Choice Based Letting (CBL) system this week. Tipperary County Council uses the system to invite expressions of interest from applicants that have been approved for social housing in the county and have registered to use the CBL system.
A two bedroom house is offered in Cashel and a 3 bedroomed home is listed for Tipperary town. The homes offered in Templemore are a 3 bed and 4 bed house respectively.
Applicants will only be able to View and Express an Interest in properties which they are approved for in terms of size. The Council is reminding applications to fully complete the checkout process on the website when they express an interest in any home offered. A successful applicant who refuses a Choice Based Letting offer will not be eligible for consideration for another Choice Based Letting Unit for a period of one year and under the CBL scheme only the successful candidates will be notified by post.
Tipperary County Council has over 3,500 approved applicants on the social housing list and will deliver a total of 188 new social homes this year with higher delivery figures expected in 2025 and 2026 under the Housing for All schemes. The Council is also currently inviting developers to offer homes to the council from new developments to help boost the stock of social houses.
