The management at Kilcoran Lodge Hotel, near Cahir, is encouraging customers to continue to avail of the services at the hotel and Leisure Centre.
In a statement Management says the “hotel is continuing to trade as normal, is currently taking bookings for the Christmas period and is looking forward to welcoming its guests during the festive period. “
Tipperary Rural Independent TD, Mattie McGrath, has received confirmation from the Community Engagement Team responsible for accommodation for asylum seekers that the hotel has been offered for use to the Department and that an assessment of it’s suitability is currently underway.
The Hotel statement says rumours circulating on social media only make trade more challenging and continues to say that “the Hotel is currently in a sales process, is operating as a trading Hotel and no agreement is in place with any party that changes this position.” The Hotel is currently controlled by a receiver.
The hotel has 22 bedrooms and employs a total of 21 staff including the leisure centre. A number of sales promotions are to be made available in the coming weeks to encourage the hotel’s loyal customers to attend the hotel according to the statement.
