A Tipperary-business is to double its workforce to more than 400 by 2028.
Buttimer Engineering based in Cahir but with operations in the UK, Poland and the Gulf region expects that the expansion will affect both the number of direct employees and sub-contractors working with the company. The company specialises in bulk material handling systems and steel fabrication. Revenue is expected to increase from €25 million to €65 million as the company expands.
The company is to expand by focusing on opportunities in the infrastructure area such as ports, data centres and by establishing an electrical engineering division.
Investment Fund Development Capital is helping to finance the expansion according to company CEO Fergal Buttimer. Development Capital was established in 2013 and to date has invested over €125M in Irish Small and Medium Enterprises.
