Tipp Racecourse To Host National Hunt Fixture On Nov 22nd

Tipperary Racecourse is to be used for a National Hunt Fixture on Friday November 22nd.

The course had held it’s final scheduled race meeting for the season last month but due to the recent dry weather a National Hunt fixture was in need of a suitable venue.  Entries for the race meeting will close at noon on Monday November 18th  and the declarations to be run will be made by 10am on Wednesday. It is expected to be a 7 race card with racing to start before 1pm.

Two meetings were canceled recently in Thurles due to hard ground. Tipperary Racecourse Manager Andrew Hogan says the winter horses are seeking ground that is rated yielding to soft which Tipperary Racecourse can accommodate.

In Spring 2025 construction work is to begin on an All-Weather track at the Tipperary Racecourse with the existing turf track to be retained. The project is expected to cost €18M and will see the number of race meetings annually at Tipperary increase to 31.
