Cllr Declan Burgess, Cathaoirleach of Tipperary County Council is encouraging members of the community to take part in a National Transport Authority consultation on a possible new bus service that would run from Nenagh to Clonmel.
The proposed service would serve Borrisoleigh, Templemore, Thurles, Holycross, Boherlahan, Cashel and Ballyclerihan as well as the towns of Clonmel and Nenagh. The service would run 8 times per day and allow for other existing routes to link in at various points providing greater access to Thurles Railway station for some residents. Railways stations in Limerick Junction, Nenagh, Templemore and Clonmel would also be more accessible. The proposal out for consideration features a 7 day a week service.
The route is one of four new routes in planning with a link between Urlingford and Thurles also out for consideration. The proposal for this route is for a 7-day week service between Urlingford and Thurles, serving Johnstown, Crosspatrick, Templetuohy, Moyne and Thurles Train Station.
The other two routes are in Carlow and across county Kilkenny. Submissions on the National Transport Authority website must be made by Friday November 15th at 5pm.
Persons wishing to make a submission must first register and then proceed to comment on the proposal. Full details are available at this link here.
