A Thurles based company has won the title of Ireland’s ‘Sustainable Family Business of the Year’ title!

Ryan’s Cleaning was awarded the much-coveted ‘Most Sustainable Family Business’ title at The Family Business Awards which took place on Friday, November 8th, at Crowne Plaza Blanchardstown, Dublin.  400 representatives of the best in class family businesses from all across the country attended the event. The Most Sustainable Family Business category sponsored by Down2Earth had no less than sixteen finalists.

Aisling Ryan, CEO of Ryan’s Cleaning, a business founded over 40 years ago, says the title is a real honour as the company is passionate about sustainability, both in-house and at all the facilities and events the company serves in Ireland and in the UK. Ryan’s Cleaning remains headquartered in Thurles but now has offices in Dublin and London as the company has expanded its UK portfolio in recent years. In addition to 120 full and part-time staff they employ up to 1,000 ad-hoc contractors during peak season specialising in event clean-ups and waste disposal at music festivals, sporting facilities and large indoor and outdoor events.

Irish clients include Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Dublin Zoo, 3 Arena, Electric Picnic and The Ploughing Championships. From a sporting venue perspective Croke Park, Punchestown, Limerick, Leopardstown, Galway, Tipperary and Kilbeggan racecourses are amongst their valued clients. Their UK portfolio includes major events, such as, British Summer Time in London’s Hyde Park, Reading & Leeds Music Festivals and Latitude Music Festival.
