Garda are to conduct a day of action as part of Operation Twin Tracks which aims to prevent and detect anti-social behaviour on board public transport services.
The nationwide operation will include high visibility, proactive patrols of LUAS and DART services in Dublin as well as on several Intercity Irish Rail services. Garda say the event also allows for positive engagement between An Garda Síochána, customers and public transport providers.
Local Gardaí will be enforcing Operation Twin Tracks on all services serving stations such as Limerick Junction, Birdhill, Nenagh, Cloughjordan, Roscrea, Templemore, Thurles, Tipperary town, Cahir, Clonmel and Carrick on Suir. Thurles Train station now has a security officer in place on a permanent basis following a number of Garda Drug seizures at the station.
