Tipp Mid-West Radio is celebrating after scooping up two awards at the CRAOL Achievement Awards last night.

The ceremony aims to recognise quality in production of community radio in Ireland.

The Spotlight Series by Denise Harding received an award under the category Social Benefit Talk.

The one hour show is a variety type chat show from live music to human interest interviews and is tailored for young people within the community.

Denise is a presenter since early 2022 and started covering music shows and has ventured into talk radio too in recent times.

Our second award was under the category of Irish Talk/Speech for our Comhaltas Ceoiltóirí na hÉireann documentary.

This one hour doc centred on the history and structure of Comhaltas Ceoiltóirí na hÉireann (CCÉ), emphasising how the organisation advocates for and protects the Irish Language. The aim was to highlight the ways CCÉ champions Irish Culture, heritage, music and dance.

The documentary was presented through Irish by CCÉ member Sean O’Dwyer and was produced by our production assistant Clodagh Cummins who was previously a volunteer for a number of years.

Programme Controller Eoin O Donoghue says we’re super proud of both Clodagh and Denise’s achievements at the CRAOL Awards.

Mr Donoghue says this documentary and series live up to our commitment to provide content relevant to our community which aims to inform, entertain, and to celebrate local music, culture, and heritage of our community.

Clodagh Cummins and Denise Harding represented Tipp Mid West Radio at the CRAOL Feile over the past two days.

The Feile is an opportunity to attend workshops on different aspect of radio, from talks on making community radio more inclusive to Radio on Video, Income Generation workshop and Election coverage workshop to name a few.
