Tipp Groups Invited To Take Part In Training Course To Improve “Facilitation” Skills

7

Groups across county Tipperary are invited to take part in a 5 session training course to improve the “Facilitation” skills of participants. These skills are intended to help groups or teams to operate better and aid the achievement of their objectives.

A facilitator is a person who helps a group of people to work together better, understand their common objectives, and plan how to achieve these objectives, during meetings or discussions. In doing so, the facilitator remains “neutral”, meaning they do not take a particular position in the discussion

Tipperary Public Participation Network(PPN) is offering the free course over 5 sessions from November 7th until December 5th.   The training sessions will be day time events from 10am to 1pm in the Thurles Enterprise Centre mainly – with one session planned for the Cabragh Wetlands Visitor Centre.  Places can be booked on the Eventbrite Platform at this link here or by contacting the PPN office in Thurles. The email address is  [email protected]  or call Ruth Smith on 087 456 7111.

All groups registered with the Tipperary PPN have been sent the course details. The training will cover areas such as the role of a facilitator, the skills needed for effective facilitation, how to include all participants and how to deal with preventing or managing challenging behaviour in any group.
