Tipp Gardaí To Conduct Traffic Enforcement Operation This Bank Holiday Weekend

An Garda Síochána is conducting a dedicated road traffic enforcement operation throughout the October Bank Holiday weekend which commenced at 7am yesterday and will continue until 7am Tuesday, 29th October.

Garda are appealing to drivers to observe speed limits and driving conditions, to avoid using their phone, to wear seatbelts and to never ever drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  

Bank Holiday Weekends are one of the busiest periods on Irish roads. They are also one of the periods during which road users are at the highest risk of being involved in a fatal or serious road traffic collision.

To date, 143 people have lost their lives in road traffic collisions on Irish roads.
