Tipperary County Council Confirm Collaboration With TII Regarding Kilfeacle Village

Tipperary County council confirmed at yesterday’s Tipperary Cahir Cashel Municipal District Meeting that the Council is engaging with Transport Infrastructure Ireland(TII) about the need for measures in Kilfeacle village which is located on the N74 Cashel to Tipperary town road.

Cllr Declan Burgess had sought an update on work relating to traffic calming and village regeneration at the meeting by way of motion.   Council management says the District has flagged the need for works at the location with Transport Infrastructure Ireland and says the Council’s Roads Capital team are currently liaising with TII in regard to the options available for Kilfeacle village.

The motion by Cllr Burgess, the current Cathaoirleach of the Tipperary County Council, is timely as 6 Tipperary Cathaoirligh are to hold their annual meeting with TII on November 6th. Each Municipal District is asked to bring 3 priority road issues to the meeting with TII.

For the Tipperary Cahir Cashel District the priorities are the N24 Cahir to Limerick Junction project seeking the delivery of the Tipperary town ByPass as a priority, the overall management of safety on the N24 across South Tipperary is the second issue and actions in Kilfeacle in respect of traffic calming and regeneration is the third priority. Cllr Burgess believes that the regeneration of Kilfeacle can be led by local organisations such as the Rugby and Tennis Club if TII supports work on the road network.
