The Tus Maith Special Needs Play School is to benefit from a donation of over €10,000 raised in Monard last weekend. The Monard Community Hall Committee organised a pop up shop on Friday and Saturday raising a total of €10,070 by selling the items donated. The Committee is thanking everyone that donated, purchased or assisted in any way.
The staff at Tus Maith are said to be delighted with the fundraising success. The school is a child development centre and registered preschool for children with disability, aged between 2.5 – 5 years resident in the South Tipperary Community Care Area. The school currently caters for 10 children and is now operating from Newtown, Monard having previously been located in the GaelScoil Tiobraid Arann and the Tipperary Excel Centre.
The organisers say any unsold items will be donated to an appropriate charity shop to ensure the maximum number of people benefit from the event.
