Tipperary County Council has been shortlisted for an Award in the Excellence in Local Government Awards for 2024.

Chambers Ireland received a total of 191 submissions from across the country for the 15 different categories such as Age Friendly initiatives, Climate Change, Urban Renewal or best Festival. Tipperary is nominated in the Heritage and Built Environment Category for the work of the Tipperary Studies Digital Platform. The Digital Platform displays digitised material from and about Tipperary ranging from books, minute books, photographs, match programmes, yearbooks to donations of letters and documents. The content on the platform and the details of other work undertaken by Tipperary studies can be viewed on their website TipperaryStudies.ie at this link here.

Ian Talbot, Chief Executive of Chambers Ireland, says the Awards showcase the inventiveness and innovation that Local Authorities are delivering, which so often goes unnoticed.  The Excellence in Local Government Award winners will be announced at a ceremony to be held in Dublin on 21st November.
