Tipperary County Council is to hold the October Plenary meeting in Nenagh on Monday. The agenda includes the sale of 8 land holdings including two in Lisbunny Business park in Nenagh that will facilitate Commercial Developments. Banaghan Stationery is to build a 60,000 square foot warehouse and Apex Aviation are also seeking to establish a business in Nenagh.

Councilors will also be asked to approve a €10M overdraft application for the Council until the end of 2025. The Meeting will also appoint councilors to the 7 Strategic Policy Committees and consider the October Management Report.

There are two motions for consideration – Cllr Anne Marie Ryan is calling for a working party to be set up to develop a policy on using modular, log cabin and mobile homes in the response to the housing crisis and for a ban on any enforcement measures for such homes to be put in place until the Department of Housing considers the policy. Cllr Niall Dennehy is calling on Council Management to use Common Sense in respect of proposed changes to default Speed limits due to come into effect in November. The Councillor wants any speed limit changes on rural, local or urban roads to be approved in advance by councilors.  There are also three motions outside of Council functions for consideration – two relating to methods to support the people in Palestine and a motion calling for a funding scheme to assist landowners with the removal of trees infected with ash dieback from roadside boundaries.
