Uisce Éireann today lifted the Boil Water Notice on the Carrick on Suir (Linguan) Public Water Supply following remedial works.

However, the Boil Before Use notice on the Horse and Jockey supply remains in effect. This was also issued on September 3rd due to excessive particles in the raw water for the scheme.

The company says consistent, satisfactory sampling results have been recorded in Carrick and adds that the decision to lift the notice has been agreed with the HSE.

The notice was first put in place on September 3rd impacting approximately 4,000 people due to problems at the Water Treatment Plant.

All consumers on the Carrick on Suir (Linguan) Public Water Supply can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.

Uisce Éireann and the Health Service Executive Water Liaison Group will continue to meet and will review ongoing process control, monitoring and testing of the drinking water supply.

The Uisce Éireann Customer Contact Centre, open 24/7 on freephone 1800 278 278, is available to answer queries in relation to the lifting of this notice. Further information is available on www.water.ie.
