Halla na Feile, in Cashel, is the venue for an interesting event on Tuesday October 8th – Tipp Mid West Radio will broadcast live from the venue between 10.15am and noon.

Tipperary County Council’s Healthy Tipperary is joining forces with the Tipperary Public Participation Network(PPN) to host an event with two purposes.

The free event begins at noon and will run until 4pm and is particularly relevant to people living in the Tipperary Cahir Cashel Municipal District.

A wide number of organisations are to be on hand with information and advice around healthy living. Examples of those attending include Tipperary Civil Defence with information on defibrillators and CPR, the Community Nutrition Worker at Knockanrawley Resource Centre, the HSE Drugs and Education Officer, the Tipperary Volunteer Centre, Mental Health Ireland, UPMC Healthcare, Family Carers Ireland and a Respiratory Nurse.

Staff from Tipperary Library service, Alone and Tipperary Education and Training Board will also be present on the day.

In addition to getting information and advice the public will be asked to give some feedback on Well Being in the Community. Each Municipal District has a unique statement about the vision for a healthy community – the Tipperary PPN is asking people to give their views and one lucky contributor will win a €50 voucher.

Similar events are being held in each of the five Tipperary Municipal Districts –  Nenagh Rugby club is the venue on October 15th, the Clonmel event is planned for Hillview Tennis Club on November 5th, while the Carrick on Suir MD event will be held in Fethard Town Park on November 19th
