Tipperary Racecourse is to hold it’s Super Sunday meeting on October 6th. This is likely to be the final race meeting at the venue as a turf  only racecourse.

The Manager of Tipperary Racecourse Andrew Hogan expects that construction work on the installation of an All Weather Racetrack at the facility will begin in early 2025.

Mr Hogan estimates that the work could be completed by October 2026. The project is being funded by Horse Racing Ireland in collaboration with Tipperary Racecourse.  The redeveloped facility will offer both all-weather and turf courses for racing and will have a total of 31 race meetings annually, compared to the current 11 meetings, with extensive use of the enhanced  venue for schooling of horses also expected.

The racecourse has a full schedule of races for next year however Horse Racing Ireland has also selected an alternative venue for each race to accommodate the start of construction at the earliest opportunity.

The 8 race card on Sunday sees the gates opening at 11.30am and offers a mix of Graded Jump racing and a listed Flat Race event. Children are also catered for with an Animal Farm on site during the day. Special promotional offers are available for adults with children under 12 offered free admission. The event also includes music from the CJ Kickham Band and Handipak(after racing).  Full details for Super Sunday can be found on the website tipperaryraces.ie
