Temporary Traffic Lights at the town limits on on the N74(Cashel Road) to enable a one way traffic flow due to roadworks

The major roadworks in Tipperary town on the N74(Cashel Road) now extend from the town limits on the Cashel side to the Bansha Road Roundabout – a distance of approximately 1100 metres.

A one-way traffic system is in effect as approximately 50% of the existing road is fenced off to allow the installation of new water, sewage, electricity and telecoms piping and new footpaths and kerbing.

Three sets of traffic lights are being used to manage the traffic in the works area including temporary traffic lights for vehicles leaving the Blackthorn Grove estate and at the town boundary on the Cashel Road.

New Footpaths and kerbing on the N74 opposite St Michael’s Cemetery – on completion of the road works project the width of the N74 roadway will be significantly reduced.

The contractor expects that the works on the section from the town limits to the Knockanrawley Road junction will take approximately two weeks to complete.

The contractor is working on three phases of the project simultaneously – clearing existing infrastructure, installing new piping and ducting and installing new kerbing and footpaths, and expects to move to the other side of the N74 in late October.

The overall project which includes significant traffic diversion via Knockanrawley for traffic entering Tipperary Town on the N74 is expected to continue until April 2025.
