Ballyhoura Development together with Music Generation Limerick County and Friars Gate Theater are pleased to host free Music camps this autumn for children aged 8 – 10 years old. Opening ceremony Moore Abbey, Galbally on Saturday 28th September, commemorating Olympian Jim Fahy who broke world record in 1923, known as the Irish Kangaroo. Official opening ceremony at 11am – 1.30pm. John Kiely of the Limerick Hurling team will be the official opener of the ceremony. The Moore Abbey Loop walk will be temporarily renamed as the Jim Fahy Walk. There will be a 3km walk starting at the Abbey, children welcome with their trailers/bikes/tractors and more. The walk can be done in shoes and is wheelchair accessible. There will be a sports day on Sunday 29th of September, commemorating Jim Fahy’s achievements. There will also be a wreath laying ceremony on the Sunday morning also.
