Road safety concerns in Newport are to be raised at Thursday’s meeting of Nenagh Municipal District Council.

Cllr Fiona Bonfield is calling for action on all of the approach roads into the town of Newport.  The motion submitted by the councillor asks that “Tipperary County Council investigate and start the process of rolling out an assessment of the need for raised crossings on all approach roads in Newport Town as a matter of urgency.”

Ms Bonfield is asking that Newport town be used as a pilot town for such an approach to road safety in county Tipperary.
