Two Boil Water Notices For Tipperary Uisce Eireann Customers

101

Two boil water notices for Uisce Eireann customers in the Horse and Jockey and Carrick On Suir (Linguan) scheme remain in place for both supplies until further notice. The notices were first issues on September 3rd.

The company says it is carrying out works to address the issues at both treatment plants to enable the lifting of the notice as quickly and as safely as possible. The raw water supply at both locations is of a lower quality than usual due to turbidity – the presence of unwanted particles in the water  – that is effecting the treatment process to prepare the water for distribution. Approximately 600 customers on the Horse and Jockey Supply are affected and over 4,000 in Carrick on Suir.

While drinking water experts from Uisce Éireann are working to rectify the issues at both treatment plants, customers on each of the supplies are advised to continue to boil their water before use until further notice. Customers are reminded that the water is safe to consume once boiled. The HSE will have to give final approval for the notice to be lifted typically requiring three consecutive days of satisfactory sampling results.

A map of the affected area for each notice is available to view on the supply and service section of water.ie.
