A local business has been revealed as the Top selling brand in their sector across Ireland by Checkout Magazine.
Ryan’s of Tipperary, who produce a range of cakes and Confectionery in Tipperary town have been named as the Top Cake Brand in the country.
Ryan’s was in the number two position last year and now holds the top spot ahead of Krispy Kreme in second with Staffords Bakeries , Cadbury and Mr Kipling rounding out the top five.
The business is led by local man Kieran Ryan.
Staff numbers have increased from 10 to 40 in recent years with support from the South Tipperary Development Company under the Rural Development Programme (LEADER) to develop a new bakery in Knockanrawley.
The company recently signed a contract to supply 39 stores in the Iceland retail chain in Northern Ireland and is said to be exploring further possible expansion into supplying Iceland stores in Great Britain.
