Application Date Extension For Community Animators For Heffernan House Water Project

The Local Authority Waters project based at Heffernan house in Rossmore Village is extending the application date for Community animators – Individuals or organisations, to work on the €60M Farming for Water EU funded project. 

The key aim being the promotion of good agricultural practices to protect and restore water quality to help protect biodiversity and to possibly assist Ireland’s case to retain a Derogation in respect of nitrates use on farmland.

Five Community animator posts are being funded and the aim of these posts is to recruit farmers into the Farming for Water project relevant to the selected target area, to work across the community to enhance the reach and impact of the Farming for Water EIP and to contribute nationally to the promotion of a “caring for water” approach.

The closing date for applications is Tuesday September 17th at 10:00am.

These posts will be supported by the Farming for Water EIP project team in Heffernan House  and will have access to the necessary supports in terms of training and river catchment science with the key aim being the promotion of good agricultural practices to protect and restore water quality.
