A special meeting of Tipperary-Cahir-Cashel Municipal District will be convened as a mark of respect to Mary Swords (née O Dwyer). Ms Swords died on September 5th in Tipperary University Hospital and previously served as a town Councillor and Mayor of Tipperary town. The meeting will be held tomorrow Tuesday September 10th at 4:30pm in the Civic Offices, Rosanna Road, Tipperary Town. Current and former members of the Council have been invited to attend the meeting.
Ms Sword’s funeral will take place tomorrow – Reposing at Whelan’s Funeral Home, Tipperary town between 5:30pm to 7pm. Mass for Mary will take place in St. Michael’s Church, Tipperary Town on Wednesday 11th of September at 12 noon to be followed by burial afterwards in St. Michael’s Cemetery Tipperary Town.
Ms Swords is survived by her children Michelle, Sean and Jackie, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, Sisters, sons-in-law Stephen and Pat, daughter-in-law Caroline, nephews, nieces, extended family and her best friend Ann.
