A number of local business owners are dealing with disruption to service today due to a lack of notice from ESB Networks about a planned electricity supply interruption.

Oola Pharmacy is without electricity or advance notice today – the owner Anne Marie O’Halloran is requesting that ESB Networks review it’s communication system and suggests that email notification be used in addition to the normal paper notice delivered by An Post.

The Junction Gastro bar and restaurant is also closed today due to the outage. Owner MJ Buckley posted that no advance notice was provided by ESB Networks. Although the bar and restaurant is closed today – the guesthouse and outside catering obligations are not affected.  Mr Buckley is offering an apology for the inconvenience caused by the closure and says the business will now seek to have an alternative solution on hand to avoid a repeat of the situation in the future.

The website of ESB networks has posted that the planned work should be completed by  5.30pm and that a  total of 185 customers are impacted by the outage.  The works are being completed close to Limerick Junction at Monatogher.

Customer Service at ESB Networks can be reached by calling 1 800 372 757 and updates are published on the company website at powercheck.ie. In the case of emergencies and outages the number to call is 1 800 372 999 which operates 24 hours every day. ESB has been contacted for comment about the lack of advance notice.
