Tipperary County Council is to hold it’s September meeting on Monday next in Clonmel.

Councilors will decide on the Local Property Tax local variation – each year councilors can vary the rate by a maximum of a 15% increase or a 15% decrease. The Councilors have yet to be given the recommendation from the council executive for this vote which is based on projected income needs for the council’s programme of works.

The agenda also includes plans to host a Civic Reception at Bro Boru in Cashel on September 28th to honour the All Ireland winning Tipperary Minor and Junior Camogie teams and the  heroic All Ireland winning Tipperary Minor Hurling team.

There are two motions for the 40 councilors to consider – Cllr Richie Molloy is asking Tipperary Housing Department to dismiss income from the Carers or Disability Allowance when calculating the social housing rent for such persons.  Cllr Anne Marie Ryan and David Dunne are calling on the Council to survey all of it’s buildings and public spaces to establish the standard of accessibility for people with disabilities.
