Almost 200 young people and their supporters in County Tipperary are part of a national campaign to secure extra funding for Youth Services in the upcoming Budget.  A total of 4,891 people have signed postcards to their local TDs to lobby for an increase of €15M in funding in the Budget which is to be revealed on October 1st.  The TDs are urged to act with the National Youth Council reminding the TDs that their individual representations to the Minister for Finance Jack Chambers could make all the difference in securing a successful outcome.

The campaign reminds the TDs that there are huge benefits in the country having a vibrant youth sector in society.  Tipperary TDs –  Martin Browne, Jackie Cahill, Alan Kelly, Michael Lowry, and  Mattie McGrath are being asked to “take a stand for young people in Tipperary and beyond.” By 2025 there will be over 1 million under-25s in Ireland, but they need “meaningful support” according to the National Youth Council of Ireland.
