A 24-hour garda operation urging motorists to slow down is under way this morning.
The operation, which runs from now until 7am tomorrow, aims to remind motorists of the dangers of speeding and to increase overall compliance with speed limits.
National Slow Down Day comes at the start of the first full week of the new school term for both primary and secondary school students.
