A cheque presentation will take place tomorrow evening at the Porterhouse, Bank Place in Tipperary town. Martin Quinn is to present a cheque to the Dillon Quirke Foundation with the event to start at 7pm. The funds were raised through the sale of printed copies of a poem Martin composed in memory of the late Dillon Quirke who died in August 2022 from Sudden Adult Death(SAD) syndrome. Dillon Quirke was a member of Clonoulty Rossmore GAA club and a rising star with Tipperary at the time of his death aged 24 – the club grounds have since been renamed in his honour.
Mr Quinn has also secured a donation from a group that was disbanding to bolster the total being presented. The cheque will be accepted by Dillon’s father Dan Quirke. The Foundation is using the funds it collects to provide cardiac screening for young people aged between 12 and 18. The Foundation intends to screen a total of 10,000 young people each year. Full details of the Foundation’s work can be found on the website – Dillon Quirke Foundation at this link here.
