Tipp Mid-West Radio (based in Tipperary Town) is seeking a long-term volunteer to present the Current Affairs Show.

The Current Affairs Show airs every Tuesday from 6:30 – 7:30pm.

The role entails the following:

To source guests independently and come up with relevant local topics to cover on the show on a weekly basis and be comfortable in taking ownership of the programme themselves, in communication with station management.

A good working knowledge of IT and online research skills would be very beneficial.

Political Impartiality is absolutely vital.

The person should be comfortable with using equipment as they will be producing the show too. (Applicants should be aware that fully technical control training will be provided.)

The person should have a keen interest in local and national current affairs and possess excellent communication skills.

Previous experience of working in radio and using a broadcasting desk would be beneficial, but not required, as full training will be provided.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right person, particular with a General Election due in the coming months.

The Current Affairs Show will return after its summer break towards the end of September.

To apply email your interest to our Programme Controller Eoin O Donoghue to [email protected] by September 9th, 2024 or for more details and to arrange a discussion please call 062 52 555.
