A video has been shared on line by the newly arrived residents at the Kilmore houses in Dundrum which is being used to accommodate asylum seekers.

The women say they want to return to the Ark Hotel in Dublin.

The women spoke off camera and outlined a series of issues causing concern.

The video allegedly also contains audio of staff at the complex saying that food shortages at meal times is due to there being no chef available to work.

The women complain about having to walk in the rain from the houses to the main building for their meals, a lack of heating and hot water and that the houses were not cleaned before they arrived.

They claim there is no security staff at present and no management office at the houses to respond to issues.

It is understood that some of the protestors at the gates of Dundrum House Hotel have been supplying cleaning supplies and helping the newly arrived families who say there was no induction and little notice that they were being moved to Tipperary.

The newly arrived occupants say the location is too isolated and that they have not been receiving their weekly allowance €38.80 for the last two weeks.

Issues around access to school places, healthcare, work opportunities and transport options are also causing upset as the families had school places arranged in Dublin. Officials from the Department are due to visit the complex today.

It has also emerged that the Tipperary Fire Service is currently engaging with the operator at Dundrum House Hotel complex with the “intent to have a comprehensive fire safety assessment carried out on the premises by a competent person.”

In correspondence issued to Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath the chief fire officer Dave Carroll says concerns highlighted by the TD will be assessed and actioned if warranted.

A charity group – Every child is your child, – is now working with the asylum seekers and is appealing or donations of water, eggs, pasta, bread rolls, cereals, milk for babies, laundry detergent, a heavy duty hoover, toilet paper, baby wipes, juices, yogurts, milk. oranges and crisps.
