The West End Residents Association in Tipperary Town are to hold a family community day on Sunday August 18th. The event will be held in the Plan – a public park on Davitt Street.
The event is being supported by the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Fund(SICAP) via the Knockanrawley Resource Centre and will run between 2pm and 5pm.
Families are encouraged to come along and join the free activities such as face painting, music and hair braiding. Goody bags are also on offer for children.
There will also be a Childrens under 12 Fancy Dress competition and an under12 Art competition – both commencing at 2pm.
Children are asked to bring their art work along to the bandstand for display and judging. Landmarks in Tipperary Town is the theme for the art contest which can be delivered in any art form.
The organisers say the event is an important way to give people a chance to meet their neighbours in a relaxed format and all are welcome.
