The community in Dualla are to feature in the RTE programme Prime Time tonight. The programme is examining the expanding development of solar farms. Dualla Together has been campaigning against the creation of a solar farm adjacent to the village covering an area of 300 acres.  Keith Barry, the group’s spokesperson, was interviewed for the programme and the film crew used drones to record the area being proposed for a solar farm

Dualla Together say their frustration isn’t just about the development itself but also with the Government’s failure to establish clear policies that support the sustainable development of renewable energy sites.

Power Capital Renewable Energy Ltd. are seeking planning permission and the developer has been asked by Tipperary County Council to provide extensive further information before a decision can be made on their application. The planning application (reference number 2460156) was submitted in March 2024 with the request for additional information made on April 26th.  The company has six months to submit the information or the application is considered to be withdrawn. The programme begins at 9.35pm on RTE one tonight.
