Murder Inquiry Launched Following The Death Of A Woman In Nenagh

Garda in Nenagh have launched a murder inquiry following the death of a woman at a residence in St Joseph’s Park.  Garda attended the scene on Sunday and found the woman deceased in her home. A post mortem examination was completed on Monday but Gardaí have not released details for operational reasons. The woman has been named as Josephine Ray, aged 89. It is understood that Ms Ray lived at the residence with some family members.

Garda are conducting door to door enquiries and have appealed for witnesses or drivers that may have dashcam footage and were in the area of St Joseph’s Park, Nenagh between 8pm on Saturday night and noon on Sunday August 4th. An incident room has been set up at Nenagh Garda station and a family liaison officer has been appointed to support the victim’s family.

Neighbours left bouquets of flowers at the house yesterday as news of the death emerged while Garda remained on scene to preserve the site for the investigation.
