Aherlow Kilross Community Council Organise Community First Responder Training Session

Aherlow Kilross Community Council is inviting people interested in becoming a Community First Responder to attend a training session on Wednesday evening August 7th.   The event will be held in Lisvernane Community Centre  starting at 7.30pm and expected to conclude by 9pm.

Community First Responders (CFR) are volunteers who are trained to attend certain types of emergency calls in the area where they live or work. Their aim is to reach a potential life threatening emergency in the first vital minutes before the ambulance crew arrives.

Their role is to help stabilise the patient and provide the appropriate care including CPR and also perhaps using a defibrillator device in certain circumstances until the more highly skilled ambulance crew arrives on scene to take over the treatment.
