A Nenagh based solicitor has been appointed to the position of State Solicitor for North Tipperary. David Peters, 49, will take over from Michelle O’Connell, based in Thurles. who recently left the post after 9 years in the role. Ms O’Connell has taken on a new role as County Registrar for Tipperary and Waterford. The position of State Solicitor for North Tipperary was advertised earlier this year.
Mr Peters says he is looking forward to representing the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in his home county and will continue his legal practice with private clients from his Nenagh office. David Peters qualified in 2001 and has extensive experience in criminal defence cases and legal administrative work involved in conveyancing.
There are 32 Local State Solicitors who provide a solicitor service on a tenured arrangement to the Director of Public Prosecutions in cases heard outside Dublin.
