Boil Water Notice Lifted On The Commons Public Water Supply In East Tipperary

173

Uisce Éireann has today lifted the Boil Water Notice on the Commons Public Water Supply in East Tipperary in consultation with the HSE.

The notice was issued due to higher than acceptable levels of turbidity in the raw water supply which had impacted the treatment processes at the plant. This turbidity is caused by particles of silt, algae or other organic material in the water.

The supply has now returned satisfactory water sampling results and the boil water notice has now been lifted with immediate effect.
Almost 500 customers supplied by the Commons Public Water Supply, including include Commons, Blackcommon, Bolintlea, Kyleballygalvan, Gortnasmuttaun, Ballingarry Upper and surrounding areas, can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.

The Uisce Éireann customer care helpline is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and updates are also issued via Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) @IWCare. To register as a vulnerable customer or as an alternative contact, visit www.water.ie/vulnerablecustomer
