The Irish Blood Transfusion service is appealing for donors in general but specifically for three clinics at the Great National Hotel in Ballykisteen next week. The service says with many people away on holidays and busy with seasonal activities it is a challenge to maintain the critical blood supplies needed by Irish Hospitals where demand has increased 6% this year compared to 2023.
The IBTS is trying to recruit an additional 15,000 new blood donors this year.
The clinics at Ballykisteen Hotel, will be held on the evenings of Tuesday 6th, Wednesday 7th & Thursday 8th of August with appointments available from 4.50pm until the final slot at 8.10pm.
