Protestors at the gates of Dundrum House Hotel have extended their support to the Play in Pink Golf event at the complex today.
The annual event is raising funds for the Breast Cancer Institute of Ireland. The protestors have included pink balloons at the gates of the hotel and people attending the protest today are encouraged to wear something pink if possible. The protestors, who have maintained a peaceful protest at the Hotel Entrance since May 29th, are also accepting donations for the fundraising event which raised €14,000 last year. The event features a juvenile golf competition held last evening Golf competitions for teams, ladies and gents over today and tomorrow, a raffle and a coffee morning held earlier today. The Play in Pink is a platform for golfers to support the cause of Breast Cancer Research at the National Breast Cancer Institute based in University Hospital Galway.
The protestors are also awaiting news from the High Court in respect of an ongoing hearing to secure an injunction against Government plans to create an IPAS centre in Dundrum House Hotel complex and to end the use of emergency legislation to avoid the need for planning permission for such facilities.
