Irish Women’s Rugby  7’s Complete Their Final Pool Match With Australia

The Irish women’s rugby  7’s team have just completed their final pool match with Australia, the competition favourites, at the Paris Olympics, The match ended Ireland 14  Australia  19.  The result means that Ireland finished third in the group after a win against South Africa and a loss to Great Britain yesterday. 

Ireland need to await the final results in all groups to see if they can qualify for the quarter finals as one of the best third placed teams – the quarterfinal is set for 8pm this evening.   Tipperary woman  and team Captain Aimee Lee Murphy Crowe was again a key player for Ireland –  narrowly missing a try three minutes from time with a knock on at the try line after evading 3 opposition players.
