Rathkeevin Macra are undertaking a 3 year development plan to deliver the Queen of the Castle Festival in Cahir.
This year’s inaugural event will take place on August 4th.
The event will feature 18 potential Queens that have already been selected in various regions of Ireland in April and May.
The Queen of the Castle to be crowned at midnight on Sunday August 4th as part of the banquet event.
The festival will also feature a family fun day, comedy, music, food and street entertainment with yoga, dancing and kayaking activities staged in and around Cahir Castle.
The Queen will be selected by a three judge panel led by Brenda Hyland, former Rose of Tralee, Lara Slattery a local business owner and a mystery adjudicator.
It is hoped to expand the Festival which will be held on the August Bank Holiday Weekend annually.
