A major road works project is now underway on the Golden Road in Cashel.
The works include the upgrading of the existing infrastructure, installation of a new pedestrian crossing and traffic calming measures. This project is supported by local councillors as it is intended to improve the safety for residents on the Golden Road and for the school community in Scoil Chormaic.
Cllr Declan Burgess says it is important that the connectivity from the Golden Road to Lowergate towards the town centre is improved and that safety measures are implemented.
The road works are expected to continue until Friday August 16th and will be carried out between 8am and 7pm each day. A traffic management system is in place allowing for a stop and go system using temporary traffic lights. Drivers are advised to expect minor delays and asked to drive with caution in the area of the works on the Golden Road in Cashel.
