Gardaí have seized a car after the driver turned away from a joint An Garda Siochana and Road Safety Authority Checkpoint. The Cahir based Roads Policing Unit observed the driver leaving the scene and subsequently found the car in the driveway of a house.
The car was seized after Garda confirmed there was no insurance, no tax & no NCT in respect of the vehicle using the Garda Mobility App which gives Gardaí instant access to such data at the roadside. The driver will now face a range of charges in court.
