Tipperary Volunteer Centre is looking for volunteers to take on the role of a Big Brother or Big Sister. The aim is for the volunteer to have a positive impact on the life of a young person through the powers of mentorship and friendship.
The person is asked to share one to two hours a week with a young person with the initial commitment being for one year which asks that the volunteer be a consistent and caring presence in the young person’s life. All volunteers undergo a thorough screening process to ensure a safe and supportive environment and will receive training and ongoing support throughout the friendship journey. The programme serves young people aged 10 to 17 years from diverse backgrounds. The volunteer and the young person can agree on the activities they will share together.
Volunteers are needed in Cashel, Cahir, Clonmel, Carrick-on-Suir and Ardfinnan. Full details are available from the Tipperary Volunteer Centre by calling 086 0418019(Tina O’Reilly) or via this link here.
