Tipperary Council has approved planning permission for development works at SuperValu in Tipperary town.
The proposed development includes the addition of a separate café/ restaurant space, new signage, new retail unit(stated to be a post office on the drawings), relocation of toilets and some external alterations to the appearance of the building exterior by plastering and painting and some new cladding and recladding of the external brickwork.
The planning applicant states that the café/restaurant development will help to sustain and grow its business in a competitive market. The permission comes with 3 conditions that the works are to be completed as approved, that the signage be installed as described in the application and that the works are completed in a way that does not cause any nuisance or disturbance. The construction works are not to cause any noise audible from the nearest residence on Sundays, Bank Holidays or Public Holidays and between Monday and Friday the works causing noise are restricted to between 8am and 6pm. Such works are limited to 8am – 2pm on Saturdays.
