Tipperary Cahir Cashel Municipal District Council will hold their July meeting today at 11am.
The councillors have 3 motions for consideration – Cllr Marin McGrath is seeking the addition of a bus stop to the 855 Local Link service at Kilmoyler and asks that the council engage with Transport for Ireland(TFI) to deliver this additional stop on the route between Bansha and Cahir. Cllr Declan Burgess has two motions for debate. The first motion is calling on the Council to identify a funding stream to renovate and upgrade the public toilets in Cashel to include a water bottle filling station and baby changing facilities. The Councillor’s second motion is calling for a study as to what community use can be made from the grounds of the old convent in Cashel which is now council owned. The Councillors will also receive an update on housing and planning matters at the meeting which is scheduled to be the last Municipal District meeting until September.
At 2pm today, the councillors and members of the community in Dundrum are to hold a meeting in committee, meaning no media present, with Eibhlin Byrne, the Civic Engagement Lead at the Department of Integration about the proposed creation of an IPAS Centre at the Dundrum House Hotel Complex in Dundrum to accommodate 277 asylum seekers.
