New SVDP Charity Shop To Hold Official Opening In August

The newly established St Vincent De Paul Charity Shop in Tipperary town is to be officially opened on Thursday August 8th at 12 noon.  The shop is located on Main Street at the Bridge Street Junction. Fr Eugene Everard will provide a blessing for the new outlet which is the charity’s fifth retail outlet in the county. The retail outlets trade under the name “Vincent’s”

The store is currently open and trading and is welcoming donations of clothing, books and bric a brac. Store Manager Chris Butler says the store cannot accept donations of furniture, electrical items or items relating to babies such as buggies or toys.

Suzanne McNamara O’Reilly, Regional Retail Manager in the Mid West for St Vincent De Paul is delighted at the level of interest on the part of volunteers to help operate the store which is open 6 days a week excluding Sundays.   

Funds raised in Tipperary shops stays local for redistribution to those seeking assistance.  Nationally the charity received over 250,000 calls for help and support in 2023.
