A Pre-Amber Alert has been issued to all Irish Hospitals due to low blood stocks. If the situation escalates to an Amber Alert, it will immediately impact hospitals and possibly cause the cancellation of elective surgeries requiring blood support.
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service(IBTS) is holding a donation clinic at the Dome near Semple Stadium this evening with appointment times from 4.50pm until 8.10pm available. Those interested in making a donation are asked to call 1800 222 111 for an appointment.
Existing donors have the additional option of booking online.
