Tipperary County Council Seeks Public’s Views Regarding Local Property Tax Adjustment Factor

377

Tipperary County Council is seeking the public’s views on the Local Property Tax adjustment factor in advance of Autumn Budget Meetings.  Each year the councillors have the option to vary the basic rate of the Local Property Tax by a percentage known as the local adjustment factor. This can be within the range of a maximum of a 15% increase or a 15% decrease or some point in between. The Council is to consider the matter at it’s September meeting with the CEO of Tipperary Council  usually making a proposal based on budget needs and planned service provision.

The public are asked to give their views on the local adjustment factor by Friday August 23rd. Submissions can be sent to the Council office in Nenagh or emailed to the address [email protected].  LPT is a self-assessed tax charged on the market value of residential properties in the State.
