Tipperary County Council is seeking a person to fill the post of Chairperson of the new Local Community Safety Partnership(LCSP) for the county.

The post is on a voluntary basis and ideally the selected person will commit for a 3-year term.

The LCSP is to replace the previous Joint Policing Committee which always had a councillor as Chairperson and had 17 public representatives as members (5 TDs and 12 nominated councillors) alongside a wide range of community representatives.

The new LCSP will have 3 councillors and representatives from TUSLA, the HSE, An Garda Siochana and representatives on behalf of residents, community groups, farming and business interests.

Three pilot LCSP’s have been in operation in Dublin Inner City, Waterford and Longford since 2021.

The Committee will meet at least 4 times per year and can also set up sub groups on a thematic basis or on a geographic basis as it deems appropriate.

Interested parties are asked to submit a cover letter and a detailed CV by July 15th – queries about the role can be referred to Cora Morrissey, Senior Executive Officer, Economic, Community & Rural Development at [email protected] or by telephoning 0818 06 5000.
